For Paula Engelke, the combination of a doctoral scholarship and a position as part of the Marianne-Plehn-Program (MPP) was a complete success. As a young mother of three children, however, reconciling her academic work with caring for her children was a particular challenge.

Julian Wienand: "It feels good to spark new research projects with interesting results"

The Marianne-Plehn-Program (MPP) enabled Julian Wienand to combine his experimental doctoral thesis with work in a theoretical research group at LMU Munich. He feels very much at home in the city, and not just because of the professional connections. In the final phase of his doctorate, he has not yet decided what to do next.
