National competitions for high school students

Cooperation with competition organisers: the winners of the competitions are recommended for admission to the Studienstiftung.

Principals

The best and most engaged high school graduates are recommended for admission to the Studienstiftung by their principals.

Professors or senior lecturers

Professors or senior lecturers at universities recommend individual students whose outstanding academic achievements rank them in the top 5% echelon of their cohort.

PhD supervisors

Any member of the academic staff of an institution of higher education is eligible to nominate excellent and exceptionally motivated PhD students for a PhD fellowship.

Examination boards

Students with outstanding results in their undergraduate studies are nominated by the head of the examination board after their third or forth Semester.

Universities of applied sciences (Fachhochschulen)

Rectors or presidents, examination boards and professors or senior lecturers at universities of applied sciences (Fachhochschulen) recommend students who are outstanding in their subject.

Music

On the basis of an internal admissions process, outstanding musicians are recommended for admission to the Studienstiftung.

Art/Design/Film

After an internal selection process, outstanding artists are recommended for admission to the Studienstiftung.

Drama/Dance

The year 2010 marks a new departure in its sponsorship portfolio. For the first time, also students of Drama and Dance can be recommended for a scholarship.
