Academic "Kollegs"
The aim of the Academic Kollegs is to arouse interest in research and to support young academics as early as possible. Scholars from neighbouring disciplines work together in a Kolleg. The Academic Kollegs run for two years. They are intended for students from the third semester onwards. Up to a hundred students work in each Kolleg in five to seven working groups which are led by two or three academic experts.
Each Kolleg consists of four one-week work units. Between the units the participants remain in close working contact with one another: via the Studienstiftung’s Intranet, interim meetings, excursions, joint lab weekends, etc. Scholars are involved in planning the contents of the Kolleg units and planning the interim meetings.
