Board
The President and concomitant Chair of the Studienstiftung’s Board is Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Reinhard Zimmermann, Managing Director of the Max Planck Institute for Foreign Private and Private International Law in Hamburg.
The honorary Board sets out the guidelines of the Studienstiftung’s work. It is the negotiator for our financial sponsors and ultimately decides upon on new sponsorship programmes and collaborations with other foundations as well as basic budgetary matters.
The members of the Board are elected by the Board of Trustees. They are recognised representatives of academia and business. Usually, they are familiar with the Studienstiftung’s work from their own experience as former scholars, tutors, members of selection committees or from teaching at summer academies or Kollegs. The Secretary General is an ex officio member of the Board.
