Summer Academies
For more than 40 years, the balance between intensive work and leisure activities organised by the participants themselves has made the Summer Academies into the Studienstiftung’s most important programme.
Every Summer Academy comprises seven to nine working groups and lasts two weeks. In each group 15 to 20 scholars work together on a topic with two distinguished academic experts. The academies cater for all tastes and stages of academic progress.
Apart from research fields within individual disciplines, the aim of the Summer Academies is to focus on areas falling between or outside the standard disciplinary borders. Furthermore, every academy tries to ensure that the working groups cover as broad a spectrum of subjects as possible. This guarantees lively interdisciplinary exchange amongst the students.
