Supporting highly talented students of Art, Design and Film is of equally great importance to the Studienstiftung as sponsoring outstanding students in science and humanities. Consequently, the Studienstiftung offers an admissions process and funding programme specially designed for students at art colleges.
As in most other programmes, the Studienstiftung operates through a system of recommendation. The Heads of the State Colleges of Art in Germany may recommend – on the basis of a previous internal competition organised by the local advisor of the Studienstiftung (“Vertrauensdozent”) – their best students for a scholarship. All nominees will be invited to the admission process which focuses on the works of art presented. Works of all artistic media are welcome and may be presented to the independent jury.
Outstanding students of film and design are invited to a special admissions seminar, which caters for the special profile of these subjects and their students. Universities, Universities of Applied Science and Art Colleges may nominate their best students, who will present themselves and their works to the jury which includes experts of all branches of design and film. The jury sits twice per year.
Furthermore, the Studienstiftung bi-annually awards the prestigious Karl Schmidt-Rottluff-Stipendium.[ Details ]
