Presenting and discussing your own doctoral thesis with a group of peers and academics from your own discipline and closely-related ones – this is the central element of the meetings of PhD students. It is complemented by joint work on cross-disciplinary topics and instruction in meta-disciplinary skills.
The meetings of PhD students serve to network PhD students in related subjects. The meetings take place twice a year and last for four days respectively. Each fellow should present his or her work at least once whereby the objective is not a polished presentation. Rather, the aim is to discuss the methods, obstacles and challenges of doctorates.
